Openfire : About

Openfire is an instant messaging written in Java and published under GPL. It uses the XMPP (also called Jabber) protocol.

Thierry Uso has ported Openfire 3.4.5 on OpenVMS. Porting means testing the main functions, writing startup and shutdown procedures and creating a PCSI kit.

Openfire for OpenVMS needs Java 1.5 or later and must be installed on an ODS5 volume. Openfire has been tested on Alpha and Itanium.
